広島中央電話局西分局 (爆心地から約1,080m)
西分局は爆心地から西に約1,080mも離れていましたが、原爆の炸裂による強烈な爆風を受け、鉄枠もろとも窓は破壊され、部屋の仕切壁も全部吹き飛ばされ、死傷者も出ました。幸いに類焼はまぬがれましたが、電話交換の自動機械や電力関係などの設備に相当の被害がありました。

West Branch of the Hiroshima Central Telephone office

though the West Branch stood about 1,080 meters west of the hypocenter,
the intense blast of the atomic bomb destroyed all of its windows along
with their iron flames, scattered the partitions between the rooms, and
caused many injuries. Some suffered fatal injuries.
The building escaped the fire, but its automatics telepone exchagers and
other electric facilities were seriously damaged.
